Holes in the Attick
Upscaling unused attic space
This was a lost attick space of a home in a 19th century monument. Requested was an office space, a child’s playroom and a cinema. The design theme we came up with was derived from the 1 serious wish of the owner: an Eero Aarnio swingchair. This resulted in three painted silver and white circles and one circular wall-opening. The classic construction was left entirely visible and we put in custom made desk space.
View along the entire space. The wooden beams were a given in the space.
The Eero Aarnio swingchair was the starting point for the entire design. We left the top of the walls bare to create an unfinished atmosphere.
The stainless steel ladder leads to the childs private attic.
